Sozotron is a passion project and my maiden voyage into designer/art toy creation. I wanted to make something unique yet familiar using current tools and technologies while satisfying the artist/designer in me and the kid at heart.
This is part of a "retro" series that pays tribute to classic tin robot designs along with original twists of my own. The series is comprised of four SozoRobo robots and two SozoMecha robots.
There are only 7 of each design available for individual sale.
SozoMecha: GO5 Core

Height: Approximately 4” tall.

Made of classic AMAC plastic containers with laser cut and engraved acrylic and Draftboard (wood/MDF).

12 neodymium magnets that hold the core pilot, torso, arms, and battery panel together.

The magnets allow the arms to have limited articulation at the shoulders and are also interchangeable between each SozoMecha (sold separately).

4 spinning wheels at the base for limited mobility.

The core pilot can be swapped with other SozoRobo (sold separately).

A slow fading RGB LED emits a color changing light that illuminates the SozoRobo core and highlights the graphical details within.

A CR1220 3V coin cell battery comes preinstalled and can be accessed under a magnetic battery panel on the back.

Each SozoMecha comes housed in a custom display chamber.

All pieces are finished and assembled by hand.
